Event Ceremonial Cattle Drive in Tannheim

A three-day descent over 1,000 meters in altitude is a sporty undertaking, even for cows. They have more than earned their "welcome party" in the valley.

Numerous locals and guests come to Tannheim every year at the end of summer to admire the magnificently decorated, returning animals at the Almabtrieb. Accompanied by hearty music, the Almabtrieb festival in Tannheim is one of the most beautiful in the region. On their three-day descent, the animals climb up to 1,000 meters in altitude - and are highly concentrated so as not to injure themselves.

Further cattle drives in the Tannheimer Tal take place on September 12 in Jungholz and Grän, on September 13 in Nesselwängle and on September 19 in Schattwald.
